The InterContinental in Phu Quoc is a popular choice among Japanese families with children, but it tends to be crowded with Japanese tourists and is quite pricey.
While chain hotels like the InterContinental offer a reassuring sense of familiarity, I recommend trying the Movenpick if you're open to alternatives.
Living in Ho Chi Minh City, we often mingle with families of other nationalities—French, British, Korean, etc.—who unanimously recommended Movenpick. Here’s a screenshot of the prices we compared:
Movenpick on top and InterContinental on the bottom. (Conveniently, they appeared one above the other.)
Movenpick's rates were half those of the InterContinental!

Price isn't everything, but I prefer staying at a quality facility that offers value for money, which led us to choose Movenpick this time. I've also made a video about our stay—please check it out if you're interested.
Our experience at Movenpick was fantastic! It has a pool, is within walking distance to the beach, and boasts a beautiful kids' room. Additionally, it's located on the northern side of the island, close to VinWonders, our main destination. While there aren't many restaurants, the quality of both meals and buffet was very satisfying.
The facility met all our criteria, making it a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
Here are some photos for reference.
