Phu Quoc, Vietnam is renowned for its delicious seafood, and with so many restaurants to choose from, it can be quite overwhelming.
While hotel and tourist-oriented restaurants certainly offer tasty dishes, prices can be more than double the local rate. However, if you visit the restaurants loved by the locals, you can enjoy a lobster both affordable and delicious!
Today, let me introduce two local restaurants in Phu Quoc that we loved during our two visits.
(We also have a video about these restaurants, so feel free to check that out if you're interested.)

Xin Chao Restaurant

Five years ago, before we had children, my husband and I discovered this restaurant during our trip to Phu Quoc. Overwhelmed by the plethora of tempting eateries, we asked a local lady for her recommendation, and she pointed us to this gem. True to her word, it was delicious!
The restaurant lived up to our expectations—delicious, fresh, and inexpensive! Moreover, it's right next to the ocean, offering a stunning sunset view. During our trip this year with our kids, we visited for lunch. Although we missed the sunset, the daytime ocean view was magnificent.
Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy delicious seafood at reasonable prices or who want to enjoy a beautiful sunset!

Despite ordering all this and drinks, the bill was incredibly just around $24 (aren't we blessed?).

Mai Jo

This is a quaint and lovely family-owned fusion restaurant blending Portuguese and Vietnamese cuisines, though seafood dominates the menu.
There was also a calm pet dog at the restaurant, and our kids enjoyed teasing him.
While this restaurant isn't by the seaside and doesn't offer a sunset view, the quality of the food is on par with Xin Chao Restaurant—sophisticated and delicious, yet still reasonably priced. It's perfect for those looking for a unique seafood experience.
The portions were quite generous for two adults and children aged one and two, but it was so delicious that we ended up finishing everything!
